Story

Hi my name is Douglas Rendoth and I have lived in the wonderful Snowy Mountains for over 20 years. I first moved to Khancoban from Gosford on the Central Coast in May 1989 to work for the Snowy Mountain Hydro Electric Authority with my wife Annette and daughter, who was only 9 months old. She now attends university back on the Central Coast.
We then had two more beautiful children, one who is attending Monaro High School and the other who is currently living in South Africa volunteering at a endangered wildlife sanctuary.
I have always been involved with community, whether it was being the coordinator for Tidy Towns and Clean up Australia Day or any community projects like starting up a youth group which culminated in a trip to Sydney to see the sights of the big smoke.
We moved over to Cooma in 2002 so I could take up the position of Manager Logistics with the now Snowy Hydro Ltd. After the very positive and excited feed back from the organizing committee for Dancing with the Cooma Stars I’m sure you will have a very entertaining evening.
So if I can arrange for the other Cooma Stars to break a collar bone or two I think I’m in with a real chance.

Monaro Committee for Cancer Research Incorporated

The Monaro Committee for Cancer Research was formed in 1996 by the daughter of a young Monaro mother who after a 5 year struggle lost her battle with cancer. Since its inception the mcCr has supported cancer outreach services on Snowy Monaro. In 2007 after much lobbying, a local oncology service was introduced to the Cooma Hospital. Local support raised in excess of $100,000 towards this project and today we have a successful outreach oncology service. mcCr is a local voluntary group of dedicated women working towards further cancer support and services for the Snowy Monaro Region.Your support will enable mcCr to continue this assistance for cancer sufferers.
